Appropriately titled “Spring in the Mediterranean” this limited-time menu offers a number of choices that should convince employees to leave their bagged lunches at home. As the name implies, Mediterranean food is inspired by meals created in countries surrounding the Mediterranean sea. Some of these areas include Italy, Morocco, Israel, Greece, Turkey, and Spain. Critically-acclaimed chef Vishwesh Bhatt has been delighting the taste buds of restaurant-goers in Oxford, Mississippi for ten years with his venture under the City Grocery Restaurant Group umbrella, Snackbar. This upscale, French bistro marries the local southern cuisine with influences from Bhatt’s Indian roots. The result is a menu that receives two thumbs up from foodies everywhere. Culinary Experience Vishwesh Bhatt moved from Gujarat, India in 1985 with his family after spending some time in France. One thing he found consistent between his time in college and graduate school at Ole Miss was his distaste for dining hall food. Cooking became a huge part of Vishwesh’s life as an effort to save money and make food that he actually enjoyed eating.

Recognizing the many contributions to society by women is an important facet of March, officially known as Women’s History Month. As of October 2018, women make up 50.8 percent of the U.S. population. So why isn’t this number reflected by leadership roles in the workplace? According to the Center for American Progress in 2018, they said, “In a broad range of fields, their [womens’] presence in top leadership positions—as equity law partners, medical school deans, and corporate executive officers—remains stuck at five percent to 20 percent.” We’re proud to say that the team at Corporate Essentials doesn’t share this same disparity. Since March is Women’s History Month, a Q&A with the founder of Rule Breaker Snacks, Nancy Kalish, feels appropriate! First, some background information on Nancy and her company. Nancy Kalish is the founder and ‘Chief Rule Breaker’ of Rule Breaker Snacks, which sells healthy, delicious snacks both online and in-stores. Before Rule Breaker, Nancy worked as a health journalist for 20 years, writing for many major health magazines. These include the official Health magazine as well as Real Simple. She has interviewed many doctors and nutritionists, who shared valuable knowledge that helped in her pursuit of a healthy alternative to traditional sweets. In addition to this, she is a Certified Health Coach.
