Increased worldwide demand for quality coffee; a historic drought in Brazil; a fungus that targets and kills Arabica coffee trees known simply as coffee rust – these are all factors trying to get in the way of you being able to enjoy your morning cup of coffee.
The rising price of Arabica coffee can already be seen in coffee sold in grocery stores, and your favorite Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts, and is now being felt in offices across the country.
In the last 12 months, coffee prices have increased by more than 58% due mostly to the fact that a drought in Brazil has dried up much of this year’s harvest of Arabica beans. As it currently stands, the price of green coffee is at it’s highest price in 2½ years.
Even the United States’ leader in single-cup coffee, Keurig® Green Mountain has raised their price on their popular Keurig® K-Cups, Vue Cup and new Bolt Packs by as much as 9%.
So what does all of this mean for office coffee delivery prices in NYC, Manhattan, New Jersey and Brooklyn?
At Corporate Essentials, we will be passing along a modest price increase on most of the office coffee we currently offer, the only exceptions being our exclusive Java Cafe Coffee Pods and our premium, locally roasted coffee from Irving Farm, Cafe Grumpy, Joe NYC and Mud NYC.
